Discover the history, beauty and wonder of the Tasman Peninsula
While Arrow Brick House itself is a haven of tranquillity, the wonders of the Historic Site of Port Arthur, the Three Capes Track and the awe-inspiring natural beauty of the area call out to be explored.
Three Capes Track and other walks
The Three Capes Track is a breathtakingly beautiful 4 day, 3 night walk which starts and ends a 5 minute drive from the cabin. The walk has won numerous tourism awards and is regularly featured as one of the best walks in Australia. Arrow Brick House is the perfect place to begin or end your epic adventure as you can sit out on the verandah and look out over the first two days of the walk.
There are also many stunning day walks in the area. Both Cape Raoul and Cape Huay (which are two of the “three capes”) can be done as day walks. Other day walks with spectacular views include Shipsterns Bluff, Waterfall Bay and the Coal Mines Historic site.
Gorgeous beach walks can be found at Stewarts Bay, Safety Cove and White Beach.
Port Arthur Historic Site
The story of the Port Arthur Historic Site is a story of many people, places and moments. Over its long history it has been a place of hardship, but it is now one of Australia’s most important heritage destinations, where the story of Australia’s colonial history is written in stone and brick. Tour the site to learn about Port Arthur’s evolution from a feared convict settlement to a World Heritage listed historic site and world class tourist destination.
As the sun sets, come out to the dark grounds of the Port Arthur Historic Site for your 90-minute, lantern-lit Ghost Tour. Follow your expert guide through some of Port Arthur’s more infamous buildings, ruins and hear vivid stories of unexplained events that have baffled and alarmed convicts, free settlers, soldiers and visitors.
Coal Mines Historic Site
Those convicts deemed the worst of the worst were sent to the Coal Mines Historic site. While it was known as a brutal and unforgiving environment during that time, it is a now a beautiful and peaceful area that is free from crowds. Explore or picnic at your own pace, surrounded by beautiful bushland walks and spectacular views.
Tastes of the Tasman
The Peninsula has a range of gourmet food, boutique wineries and distilleries to entice you, from fresh local oysters at Boomer Bay at Dunnalley to fantastic coffee at Cubed Coffee at Eaglehawk Neck or lavender treats at the Port Arthur Lavender Farm. Sample award winning wines at Bangor Vineyard or the Premadenya Winery, indulge in a gin cocktail by the beach at Dunalley Distillery, or try the finest whiskey at McHenry’s Distillery, hidden in bushland. Enjoy a fine dining experience at either 1830 restaurant at the Port Arthur Historic Site or at Stewarts Bay Lodge, or relax under the trees in a working pear orchard at the Pickers Pantry at White beach.
Pennicott Wilderness Journeys
Tasman Island Cruises provides unforgettable wilderness cruises along the spectacular coastline between Port Arthur and Eaglehawk Neck in southern Tasmania.
The cruise travels beneath the highest vertical sea cliffs in the Southern Hemisphere at Cape Pillar. Guests explore waterfalls, rock formations, archways and deep-sea caves.
The coastline is part of the Tasman National Park. It is home to a variety of wildlife including hundreds of seals, migrating whales and abundant sea birds in their thousands.
At any time of year you’re likely to see the feeding frenzy of diving gannets, albatross and sea eagles wheeling on the wind, cliff-nesting cormorants and peregrine falcons, or a pod of playful dolphins surfing the bow wave of the boat.
The custom built yellow boats are ideal for viewing the spectacular coastline and wildlife of the Tasman Peninsula. Each vessel holds a maximum of 43 guests. Covered open-air tiered seating means an excellent all-round view and connection with the environment. The boats have been created for these journeys and they are gentle on the environment due to their fuel efficiency and low emission operation.

We wanted a peaceful, out of the way place with beautiful surroundings and we were not disappointed! This is a cracker of a property, with stunning views from the top of a hill.
We had an outdoor bath enjoying the beautiful outlook every night, despite it being July. All the little touches from bath salts, bubble bath, heaps of firewood, quality body wash, shampoo, plus a fully fitted out kitchen were wonderful.
Jacqui's communication was on point and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our little getaway and highly recommend this property.

We had such a relaxing time at Arrow Brick House. The location is stunning, overlooking the Tasman peninsula, and is so quiet and peaceful.
Jacqui has created a lovely warm space with everything we needed for our stay.
The house has so many beautiful touches in its design. The bath space in particular was like a little oasis! My friend and I really needed a break away from everything, and we found this and more!
Thank you Jacqui, we really loved our stay :)

Arrow Brick House beats a 5 star resort any day. It was so peaceful and private.
The outdoor bath was the perfect touch of luxury. We loved escaping the hustle bustle and just soaking in the beautiful sounds of nature. It was nice and close to Port Arthur Historical site as well as Roaring Beach, White Beach and The Remarkable Cave. Highly recommend for romantic get away or a comfortable and safe family holiday.
Thanks Jacqui!

This is one of the best places we have stayed in Tasmania. Amazing views, cozy and comfortable living and dining, comfy bed and an outdoor tub! Bit of a dream house situation to be honest.
Wonderful for bird watching too, particularly enjoyed the nest building pair of satin flycatchers. Can't wait to come back.
